7th Advances in Destination Management

@ Linnaeus University - School of Business and Economics

Join the conference!

The 7th Advances in Destination Management (short: ADM26) invites researchers and practitioners to share and discuss contributions that aim at advancing destination management and marketing. The forum provides an excellent opportunity:

  • to develop an understanding of the state-of-the-art in destination management research and practice,

  • to test novel ideas in front of an interdisciplinary audience interested/versed in destination management,

  • to challenge destination management’s cherished assumptions based on practical experience or theoretical considerations, and

  • to help identify and shape the state-of-the-field research agenda in this domain published as the Consensus on Advances in Destination Management.

What topics are covered?

ADM26 invites contributions to a main, pitch and special interest stream. Alongside recurrent topics of interest such as

  • managing and marketing destinations,

  • sustainable development and destination resilience,

  • methodological advances,

  • technological transformation and impact,

  • entrepreneurship and innovation,

we especially encourage academic and practitioner submissions that rethink and deal with:

  • effective governance for pluralistic destinations,

  • the climate crisis and its implications for destination development,

  • visitor motivations and behavior in relation to ethics or justice,

  • intentional place-making and digital spaces,

  • destination policy for equity and restorative practices,

  • practical and inclusive approaches to modular destination development, and

  • DMO futures and destination stewardship.
